The Burrum Coast National Park iw well known for its wonderful display of wildflowers in springtime, beautiful beaches and pristine coastal vegetation. An excellent destination for nature lovers, bushwalkers and 4WD enthusiasts alike the Burrum Coast National park is easily accessible and makes a great destination whether you are on a day trip or have several days to spend. At 23,100 hectares, Burrum Coast National Park includes a great variety of plant and animal life from the famous ancient Livistona Palm to impressive mangrove areas along the river.
Woodgate Section
The Woodgate Section of the Burrum coast NP can be accessed coming from Bundaberg or Childers. Travel to the Woodgate Beach Township and follow the signs and indications to reach the Burrum Coast National Park
Kinkuna Section
To Reach the Kinkuna or Northern Section of the Burrum Coast National park you need a 4WD vehicle and start off from Bundaberg or Childers. 14km South of Bundaberg on the Bundaberg - Goodwood - Childers road is the turnoff onto Coonarr Road. Follow the indicated signs to the Kinkuna Section of the Burrum Coast NP. Check the weather conditions before setting off, during the wet season the area is often inaccessible.
Burrum River Section
The Burrum River section in the southern part of the Burrum Coast NP can be reached turning off the Bruce Highway at Torbanlea or Howard.
