The very ancient Auburn River has created a wonderfully rugged and carved environment of massive rocks and rock pools. Bottle trees, eucalypt and dry rainforest line the spectacular river landscape, creating an impressive contrast to the pink, smooth polished rock surfaces.

If you are lucky you might spot a falcons nest along the clifftops of the steep gorge. The waterholes make great spots for birdwatchers. A short walking trail takes you to a lookout point above the riverscape. A more demanding trail leads right down into the gorge - but we can only recommend the fantastic walk, particularly in spring flower season.
